Creation of Living Soil Ceylon
Rooted in tradition. Grown with purpose. Shared with the world.
Hi, I’m Naja, an interior designer by profession, shaped by life in bustling cities like Dubai, Qatar, and Singapore. But in early 2020, just before the world shifted under the weight of a global pandemic, I returned to my hometown of Pottuvil, a serene coastal village in eastern Sri Lanka.
During the long curfews and quiet uncertainty, something beautiful happened. While much of the world faced empty shelves and food insecurity, we in Pottuvil had our backyards. Everything grew naturally no chemicals, no shortcuts. And most of it was shared among families and neighbors. Food wasn’t just sustenance; it was survival, community, and medicine.
Among the local plants we leaned on, moringa stood out. It nourished our families, strengthened the elderly, and reminded us of the power of food grown in harmony with the earth.
But when I spoke with friends back in the high-tech cities I had once called home, I realized how rare that access was. The wellness they sought, in powders, pills, and processed alternatives, was something we had growing freely in our soil.
That realization sparked a mission.
Founded in 2023 and quietly nurtured through 2024, Living Soil Ceylon is more than a brand, it’s a promise. A promise to share Sri Lanka’s organic superfoods, grown sustainably, respectfully, and in partnership with the rural communities that nurture them.
We work directly with rural women farmers, ensuring that every harvest uplifts a household and supports traditional, chemical-free farming. Our journey begins with
pure Sri Lankan moringa powder, but it won’t end there.
We’re here to offer the world what our soil gives us so generously food that heals, strengthens, and sustains.
